Ron Beck: A loss felt a generation later

Ron's daughters, Deanna and Nicki, fondly recall him coming home from work, always up for a jump in the kiddie pool, or whatever fun his girls wanted to have. Ron and Barb had been together since high school. "You couldn't ask for a better example of how to love somebody," says Deanna.

Ron was 52 when he died, two weeks away from meeting his fifth grandson and not long from retirement. It's hard to look back on such tragic events, but it's important that we do. "Safety can never ever leave your mind, not even for a second," says Nicki.
